REQUEST FOR BIDS TO REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF MATERIAL AND RAZE STRUCTURE

The City of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal of a structure located at 279 West Estey Street in Shullsburg, Wisconsin. The selected applicant will be responsible for demolition, debris removal, and site cleanup in accordance with all applicable codes, regulations and safety standards.

The existing concrete slab foundation and footings are to remain intact and the contractor is responsible for implementing appropriate demolition methods to avoid cracking or destabilizing the slab. The small auxiliary structure surrounding the mine entrance shall remain intact and secure. The HVAC system, if still in place, is to remain on the property. As part of the demolition scope, the owner grants the selected applicant the right, but not the obligation, to salvage and retain wood materials from the existing building. Any such salvaged materials shall become the property of the applicant upon removal from the site.

Bid submission must be made on the required bid form and must include proposed project schedule with anticipated start/finish dates and proof of insurance. The successful bidder will be required to sign a formal contract with the City of Shullsburg prior to the start of any work. The City of Shullsburg has the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The following incumbent has filed a Notice of Non-Candidacy, (EL-163) for the Spring Election to be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026:

If, under par. (a) an incumbent holding local office files written notification that the incumbent is not a candidate for reelection to his or her office or fails to file a declaration of candidacy within the time prescribed in par. (a), the officer or body with whom the declaration of candidacy is required to be filed shall promptly provide public notice of that fact on the officer’s or body’s internet site or, if the officer or body does not maintain an Internet site, by posting notices in at least three (3) different locations within the jurisdiction that the officer or body serves.

Alternate Side Parking In Effect

  • Alternate Side Parking is in effect city-wide with the exceptions listed below.
  • Alternate Side Parking is in effect from November 1 – April 1, seven days a week, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Park on the EVEN house numbered side of the street on even numbered days from 12:00 am – 7:00 am.
  • Park on the ODD house numbered side of the street on odd numbered days from 12:00 am – 7:00 am.
  • Exceptions include:
    • High Street between Judgement Street and Charity Street on the odd side of the street.
